A Mechatronics Engineer, Masters Holder & Inventor

Eng. Nahla started as a mechatronics engineer at Sydney City Rail.

The amount of accidents he witnessed & lack of safety in rail transport inspired him to do something for change, a solution had to be "invented".

Achieving such a breakthrough was not an easy task, and it took place by the pioneering efforts of the Australian innovator Eng. Ibrahim Nahla.

An Inventor for the Common Good (Railroad Safety)

He invented and patented innovations for railroad safety, gaining the best acclaims and rewards. Most notable were:

• Vehicle navigation, collision avoidance and control system - US7317987B2 - 2003-03-21 (Google Patents).

• Visual identification of train driver signals - AU2005901263A0 - 2005-03-16 (Google Patents).

• A Pressure Limiter Release System (PLRS) for emergency brake/electric brakes - AU2010905018A0 - 2010-11-12 (Google Patents).

An Early Adopter of Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence

Starting 2012, following an early retirement from NSW Railyways, he noticed the problem of video and the huge energy and bandwidth it consumes, and started working on it.

He had an idea that took a pivot from how the world (compressed) videos in the past thirty years.

He started patenting his idea and started developing it right away:

• Data, multimedia & video transmission updating system - WO/2013/116906 - Submitted 2012-02-10 (WIPO Registered).

A Breakthrough to Reduce Already Compressed Videos

After 10 years of research and sleepless nights, BECT (Beyond Encoding & Comparative Transcoding) was born, and now it is fully operating on Windows based PC's and cloud servers.

It takes any Full HD (1080p) video, already compressed, and reduces its size further 80%, same quality.

It follows adopts all the current standards; it can be transferred, stored, and played back on any device, and uploaded to any online platform (YouTube, Facebook, Vimeo etc.).

The fully-developed software was deposited and copyrighted worldwide at the US Library of Congress:
